1. Scope and terminology
This policy explains how Sparkery uses cookies and other storage or access technologies under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, as amended, and the UK GDPR. It reflects changes made by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.
Storage and access technologies include cookies, pixels, scripts, tags, local storage, app software-development kits, device identifiers, link decoration and similar tools that store information on, or access information from, a user’s device.

3. Providers and technologies
Depending on the current configuration and your choices, Sparkery may use technologies supplied by:
Shopify for ecommerce, basket, checkout, localisation, security and store analytics;
a consent-management provider to store and enforce cookie choices;
Google Analytics for audience and usage measurement;
Google advertising services and Meta for campaign measurement and advertising;
Klaviyo for email and customer-journey measurement;
payment providers for fraud prevention and checkout security; and
app, crash-reporting, cloud and connected-device providers required to operate the mobile and hardware services.
The exact names, providers, purposes and expiry periods can change when services are updated. The current live cookie or technology list displayed through Cookie Settings is the authoritative operational record and should be kept aligned with the website and consent platform.
4. Consent and lawful exceptions
Where consent is required, non-essential technologies remain disabled until you make a valid choice. Continuing to browse, silence or inactivity is not consent. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed, unambiguous and demonstrated by a clear affirmative action.
Current law permits certain technologies without consent, including where they are strictly necessary to transmit a communication or provide a service you expressly request. Other limited low-risk exceptions may apply, such as specified statistical or service-improvement uses, only where their detailed conditions are met. Sparkery does not use an exception to disguise advertising or cross-site tracking.
5. Cookie banner and preference controls
The first-layer banner should provide equally accessible choices to accept or reject non-essential technologies.
More detailed controls should allow category-based choices without pre-ticked boxes or bundled consent.
A persistent Cookie Settings link should allow you to change or withdraw consent at any time.
Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Necessary technologies remain active only to the extent required for security, communication, checkout or another valid exception.
6. Information collected
Technologies may collect IP address, device and browser details, identifiers, consent choices, pages and features used, referral information, campaign interactions, approximate location, crash information and transaction or basket events. Where this information identifies or can reasonably relate to a person, the Privacy Policy also applies.
Sparkery does not intentionally place identifiable health information into ordinary advertising cookies or disclose it to advertising providers for targeting.
7. Mobile app and connected devices
The Sparkery app and connected products may store or access information on a phone or device through local storage, SDKs, Bluetooth identifiers, permissions and security tokens. These technologies may be necessary to pair hardware, keep you signed in, synchronise data, deliver notifications, diagnose errors or provide optional analytics.
You can manage many app permissions through device settings. Disabling a necessary permission may stop the related feature from working. Optional analytics or advertising permissions are not treated as necessary merely because they improve commercial performance.
Product measurement memory is distinct from ordinary website cookies. The Sparkery band is specified as having up to 30 days of device memory, and the smart scale generates measurement data for use with the app. The Privacy Policy and relevant app permission screens explain how that information is handled.
8. Retention and consent records
Each technology is retained only for the period reasonably required for its purpose. Session technologies expire when the session ends. Persistent technologies expire on the date shown in the live Cookie Settings tool or are refreshed only where legally permitted.
Sparkery retains consent records for as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance and periodically asks users to renew consent where purposes or providers materially change or consent becomes stale.
9. Third parties and international transfers
Third-party providers may receive device identifiers, IP addresses, pages viewed, campaign events and related information. Their own notices explain independent processing. Where personal information is transferred outside the United Kingdom, Sparkery applies the safeguards described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Browser and device controls
Browser and device settings can block or delete technologies, and privacy tools may limit tracking. These controls operate separately from the Sparkery banner. Blocking necessary technologies may prevent login, checkout, device pairing or other core functions.
11. Updates and contact
Sparkery may update this policy and the live technology list when providers, purposes, legal requirements or services change. Questions or complaints may be submitted through the contact details below.
